One company's 110 day corn may be the same maturity as another company's 113 day corn, as far as GDU's to maturity. There is no set in stone method that all companies use. Same with bean maturities.
Over the life of a hybrid, the maturity in the sales catalog may change a day or two, either up or down, as they get more wide spread experience with it. Have seen it happen many times. Published maturities are generally to black layer.
