Southeast WI | The data presented here is the second year of one of Wisconsin's NOPP Trials - Nitrogen Optimization Pilot Program - and this project looks at one of the recently highly touted biologicals Pivot Bio Proven 40. It's supposed to replace up to 40 units of N and be a "friendlier" form of N which is why I wanted to test it on my soils that are highly N leachable with heavy rains. In addition to my location one other farmer in the central part of WI had a similar NOPP trial as well as several locations put together by UW-Madison. I have not seen their data yet.
PB was applied with planter in-furrow at 6 gpa with water.
Plots were replicated 4X, 4 N rates, 12 rows per N rate, 6 rows with PB, 6 rows without in each 12 row set.
The online Research Randomizer program was utilized to randomize each treatment to avoid any placement bias.
Preliminary results are in one of the pics - yellow box has the averages of each N rate with and without PB. I say "preliminary" since I added up all the treatments by hand and I didn't double check my math....
