Plenty of silage still chopped around here every year and all of it is notilled. We had some of ours chopped on a dry year a few years back and went back in with corn the next year and worked very well to plant into with minumum residue and raised a good corn crop on it. Guess it's usually dry enough around here when they chop there's not much ground damage or compaction.
