Based on my experience, I would definitely go in a band.
Years ago I was applying N in a band and was having very good yields. We traded planters and I had problems on the new planter with the banding system for two years. Those years I broadcast my nitrogen and my yields were mediocre. Since then the banding system has worked great and I am very happy with my corn yield.
