Only two things I have found to control that stuff is tillage or thick stand of wheat (or similar). Have poured clethodim straight from the jug with no results. Luckily it’s in isolated spots on field edges so far.
it is a warm season grass, so wheat does compete with it. but it always comes back the next year.
some tillage will work. ive seen a disc make it worse. Ive also seed it come back from seed or roots or however. but if you stay on it with roundup, quick and often, usually you can keep it beat back
an undercutter or sweep plow on a 100 degree day or in dec, that has been the most sucessful here.
there is a chemical ad for sinate (liberty plus impact) saying they can kill it. ive seen two people try, both times it didnt work. |
