That's my thought also.
Farmers used to start in the same spot every year and plow the same direction. Left a low spot where the dead furrow was.
They’d have to plow around the field throwing dirt outward to get that pattern. If they did that every year the dead furrow would be getting awfully deep after a while.
I think the lines in the picture are from a recent tillage or drill pass. The lines are visible because that soil was worked more than once, so it’s drying differently than the soil around it. Probably wouldn’t have been visible at all if the picture was taken a couple hours earlier or later.
