mercer county, il | Get an 1 1/8 wrench (I think), and a side grinder with a wire brush. Clean as much rust/paint as you can off. Like was mentioned, slide hammer on the end, and have someone wiggle the shaft forward and backward to help work it loose from the wear spots where the clutches ride.
We always cleaned the shaft up and sprayed it with graphite dry lube. Makes it go in, and come out way easier the next time
