I still see many fields here with those markings. They come from over 40 years ago when what we called one-ways were a common tillage tool in dryland areas. The one-way was a gang disc plow designed to always turn to the left and generally ran at a depth of 2 to 4 inches. Search one-way disc plow to see pictures. Most common brands here were JD, Krause and M-M.
