CENTRAL ILLINIOS | The 2020 vote was during the covid epidemic. Many states/counties mailed ballots to anyone who requested one and I think some states mailed one to anyone registered. There were videos on line of people walking by the post office or polling place dropping off ballots by the handful. Sometimes they had just set out box pallets for voters to drop them in. You had to wonder if they were just dropping them for family/neighbors or what.
Personally I received at my address three ballots. My own, one for a personal friend who I had become guardian for and one for a grandson that I let use my address for his official mailing address when he was just out of high school and moving around a lot. By election day the friend had passed away and the grandson had moved to Arizona.
I only voted once but it is easy to see how extra votes could be cast just because of how easy they made it. | |
