Incumbency in a poor economic environment never turns out especially with a candidate that doesn’t have excitement. A choice between two bad options.
Other than the "candidate that doesn't have excitement" thing, does that not describe the 2020 election to a tee?
Also, according to the lefts own assessment Biden had turned the economy around from the mess Trump had left for him and it was recovering. Kamala would have been campaigning in better economic times than Biden was. I know Biden wasn’t incumbent but the narrative is that the economy was much stronger according to the left.
And as you said he certainly didn’t bring excitement to the campaign trail. And she checked all the boxes. She was black, Indian, and a woman. That likely made her overqualified for the job. It is likely only a two box job.
