S Illinois | 2020 offered a feel of an option of change even if it was a retreaded Biden. 2024 offered no change. Trump has his base support that is very reliable but he also attracts few new voters. So this year many voters in those blue states weren’t happy with the current status quo of current leadership and definitely weren’t going to vote for Trump. So the popular vote total loses 4 million votes in deep blue states because of apathy of having to make a choice between 2 poor options. | |
