Western Ohio | Fine by me, everything you list they can cut, except for the chemicals. Too many "market distorting" payments, biggest one being SUBSIDIZED crop insurance. Crop insurance wouldn't disappear altogether.
My only point in the comment above is that I find it extremely unlikely that a CRP contract would be cancelled or bought out in the middle of the contract. Now when the contract expires, that is a different story, maybe not be able to re-enroll. So those acres wouldn't turn into crop ground overnight. It would be drawn out over many years, and a lot of the ground isn't highly productive to start with. | |
