| I can see what you are saying, those 3 did switch sides.
However, I tend to think of someone blowing with the wind as a person who will take the path of least resistance. They will take the easy way out to avoid fighting.
In my opinion the 3 you mention don’t fall into that category. All three of them could have lived way easier lives had they not switched sides. Instead they choose to fight a political machine that is ruthless with no certainty that they would succeed. In fact I would say the odds were actually against them for a long time. Had they lost their opponents would have taken everything possible from them. They quite likely would have spent the rest of their lives in jail under some political persecution or even assassinated. It is hard to argue that wasn’t true.
For those reasons I see them as fighting against the wind, not blowing with it. | |
