It that tractor from the 90’s can’t do some of the tasks todays tractor can.
The hydraulics, the convience options and etc all make for a more productive tractor.
And, of course, add the expense of emission controls.


I dont see where they are more productive. Bigger yes but a 250 pto horse tractor is going to pretty much do the same from the 90s as one today. Just less hydraulic flow and gadgets. All the gadgets cost and honestly from running new equipment compared to old i just cant see the hype. I wanted to farm because i enjoyed driving a tractors not hitting a button and it does everything. No skill in that, makes poor farmers look good. A good operator can make a tractor efficient with all the electronics. If it takes the latest and greatest thing to enjoy farming then i think those people need a hard reality check. I think 99% of people need it anyway with way things are. Got it pretty darn good for the most part.
