SW MN | You don't think our checkoff dollars helped drive Ethanol policy? Surely big oil was just welcoming competition with open arms. The amount of ancillary benefit rural America has enjoyed due to ethanol expansion is crazy. Why did America decide to expand ethanol in the first place?
I know in Minnesota, our state dollars helped fund and develop the Duluth port being reopened for bean exports. I am not saying it wouldn't have happened without the support, but sometimes companies are willing to explore ideas that are not in their, we'll call it "line of sight", because the entities help fund the behind the scenes logistical and development portion and not create a lot of expense to the businesses that explore that avenue. | |
