Maybe time to ditch the trim, and get something with grain so it looks better. Hickory, oak, or ash? Then you wont have to deal with lead paint. the planer will create dust and the dust will contain lots of lead.
If you decide to plane the old trim, do it outdoors, stay upwind.
Another thing, you maybe could have the paint tested for lead, then you will KNOW. |
