Fontanelle, IA | Once you get your alfalfa bale chopped up, can you move the “retarders” out so you are only mixing and not processing? I have no experience with twin screws.
Personally, it depends a lot on your batch size in the wagon and the initial stress on the tractor and wagon PtO driveline IF you shut off for road transport. 3 miles of bumps and general settling would put a real strain on PTO when get there but again our wagon is single screw/not twin screw.
Personally, I wouldn’t shut it off unless you are LESS THAN 3000-3500#. 4630 PTO clutches aren’t cheap unless you can do it in your shop…. And those don’t go out when it’s 60 degrees, dry, and sunny out. | |
