coast of Maine | From one who has seen more audits than 99% of others,,When a past IRS agent reviewed my mileage deductions I had one at 100%.He asked"If you are in a field thats near town.The school calls 'your son is sick' would you come home to get in a personal use truck to go to pick him up?or would you go directly there?"He said,most always claim a % for personal use and they wont question the deductions,,,Do not need a recorded miles chart.This for employee used on weekends etc vehicles is expected.
Also if you eat a carrot (if veg farmer) out of the field you are expected to claim as income...this was actually told to me by the IRS agent.
Another interesting note listed in IRS documents is that if you give employees free coffee,,its income,,, or even if you give coffee to customers,,,you have a tax issue on the cost deduction unless you charge a penny at least,,, | |
