Did the same this summer in tall grass with narrow front of tractor. I almost immediately threw up. Calf got up an took off.
Vet said the first few days nature has their bones like rubber to get through birth canal. After that they harden up fast and probably wouldn't have been good. That first week of playing dead sure doesn't help get them out of the way either.
