| I do not worry as much about silt if there is running water. Also, even if the outlet is below water, if the laterals come into the main above the level of the water at the outlet, then there should not be much difference in the flow rate. As others have pointed out, you should still adjust your amount of fall based on the water level for calculating the drainage coefficient. We should also give credit for the extra fall we get when the lateral is above the main. Where you will see the most restriction and slowest flow is when the lateral has to come in near the bottom of the main (we try to avoid this, but sometimes have no choice other than a lift). | |
