NW IL | "Better than nothing" is probably the answer. I know many are hesitant to put extra wear on their planter, so not much 30in experience out there.
I know of someone that tried doing radishes on 30in with the thought of planting over top of them the next year. I don't think they still do it, but that might be a time thing since radishes would need to be in earlier to get much use from them.
Depending on your goals it might work well. Assuming you are doing rye, you could let it grow for a while after planting, and maybe be able to get through the field if it's a bit wet since you've got some roots in the wheel tracks. | |
