Iowa | Honestly I don't know how you could rent that much and not be wanting to buy something that is your ground. The last few years around here there are tracts where people have been renting the same ground for 3 generations and the heirs decide to sell it off. I know multiple larger family farm operations in the area that rent a decent chunk and have lost 300 acres every year the last few years for this same situation. If you don't have the cash-flow to buy renting that much ground, what are you really making per acre on what you are renting? Once you get the land paid off, your probably making 3x the money on your land than the rented stuff. | |
