I really let the nav in the car choose charging stops. It optimizes route and charging level pretty much automatically. I do tend to err on the conservative side of things, so would often linger a bit and take on an extra 10 Kwh while stopped to charge. The stop in Laurel was really unnecessary if I'd been driving on, the same day but I really like to have 55 to 60% when staying overnight. Sentry system uses 7 or 8% during the night and I like to have a 50 mile drive in the morning before charging. Gives the car time to warm the battery for fast charging.

I agree with you Ed, on maintaining a higher S.O.C. overnight for battery health. As for Sentry, we have found that the amount of juice it uses varies widely on the amount of activity going on around the car. Ours has varied from a typical 1% over 8-9 hours when my wife is at work, parked in an area with next to no traffic, to 8% in 45 minutes while we were in a restaurant and the car was parked facing a busy highway where traffic was triggering it the whole time we were in there.
