central Wisconsin | I think ( no proof other than observation ) that as you get further north the stalks do not look much different in spring as they did in fall when the combine pulled out of the field. Reason I think ( see above ) is that shortly after shelling is done, our world is frozen for 3 or 4 months and very little if any decomposition happens. Sometimes we pull into a field in spring and to me it looks like the combine just left. | |
