Subject: RE: At What Price Do Cattle Equal $7 Corn?

A lot of feedlot friends are starting to think they won't fill up once they are empty until things shake back to reality. I'm talking guys with 1k-6k yards so not just in and out type guys.

Time will tell if that's the right thing to do and if they will actually stay empty... if they do and a lot of other folks think that then there will be some pressure put on feeders

I'm all in on the cow man making money. I had cows for most of my life and now my son has a nice herd. So don't think I'm beating them guys up. I just can't see spending 2200 on a 6 weight calf and try to squeeze 150 out of him yet.... not the best return on a high risk investment.... sure I've been making more per head the last few years.... but that usually means it's on its way the other way if we've had a run of profitability

I'll be completely empty by August. First time I'll have ever been completely empty. I usually am buying 3 times during the year. This year just completely filled up on fall run of the calves and that looks like a good move. I'll be out before I need to make decision on making corn into feed or not. I guess I hope the future looks clearer by then
